The Minnesota Twins are drawing plenty of interest in Kyle Gibson, but in order to move the right-handed starter, the club would have to be "blown away," one source told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Gibson, 30, has one more year of arbitration before becoming eligible for free agency. The former first-round pick is finally enjoying a breakout this season, posting a 3.42 ERA and 3.78 FIP thanks in part to a career-high 23.6 percent strikeout rate over 21 starts.

With the non-waiver trade deadline on Tuesday, impact starters - particularly with years of control beyond 2018 - do not seem to be available. To date, J.A. Happ, Cole Hamels, and Nathan Eovaldi are the primary starters to have moved, all of whom are on expiring contracts.

Prior to the New York Yankees acquiring Happ, they were mentioned as a possible suitor for Gibson, while also apparently discussing Ervin Santana, according to a report from Jon Heyman of Fancred. The Yankees could still pursue more starting depth beyond Happ, with Lance Lynn and Jake Odorizzi mentioned as possible targets.

One year after making the American League wild-card game, the Twins seem primed to become sellers thanks to a 48-53 record and the fact that they're seven games back of a postseason spot and the division-leading Cleveland Indians.
