Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and Texas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos were each issued one-game suspensions and undisclosed fines by Major League Baseball on Friday for their role in Wednesday's altercation at Dodger Stadium.
In an attempt to score on a base hit by Enrique Hernandez, Kemp ran over Chirinos at the plate as the catcher applied a tag. A scuffle ensued and both players were subsequently ejected from the game.

Chirinos will serve his suspension Friday night, while Kemp is appealing. Kemp is in the Dodgers' lineup against the San Francisco Giants as a result, and will remain eligible to play until his appeal is heard.
