Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg left Friday night's start against the San Francisco Giants after two innings of work. He was replaced by reliever Shawn Kelley.

After the game, Nationals manager Davey Martinez said Strasburg's shoulder tightened up during the game and that he's dealing with "a little bit of inflammation," according to MASN's Mark Zuckerman.

Strasburg will undergo an MRI on Saturday. He is currently slated to make his next start on June 13 against the New York Yankees.

The right-hander said he's been dealing with shoulder discomfort for a while, but it got worse during Friday's start.

The Giants were off to a hot start against the righty, scoring three runs - one on a solo home run from Andrew McCutchen - on five hits. Strasburg threw only 35 pitches before being lifted from the contest. His peak fastball velocity was sitting around 95 mph, a bit below his norm of 98.

Following the early departure, Strasburg now holds a 3.46 ERA with 95 strikeouts over 80 2/3 innings in 13 starts.
