The 2018 MLB Draft has concluded without Luke Heimlich's name being called among the 1,214 picks.

The star pitcher at Oregon State pleaded guilty to molesting his niece when he was 15 and she was 6. He later denied doing what he admitted to.

"I always denied anything ever happened," he told the New York Times in May. "Even after I pled guilty, which was a decision me and my parents thought was the best option to move forward as a family. And after that, even when I was going through counseling and treatment, I maintained my innocence the whole time."

Heimlich was a projected high pick in 2017 before it was revealed prior to the draft that he had signed a guilty plea that allowed him to avoid jail time. It was believed the 22-year-old could have a shot at being selected during this year's draft, though all 30 teams opted against it.

Despite the guilty plea, he was able to pitch once again this season for the Beavers. In 17 appearances, he posted a 2.42 ERA to go with 142 strikeouts over 111 2/3 innings.
