Jose Reyes' time in Queens may be running out.

With Todd Frazier back from the disabled list and more players set to rejoin the active roster shortly, New York Mets officials have discussed releasing the scuffling four-time All-Star, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

The Mets are torn over the decision, however, as the veteran infielder has spent a dozen years with the organization.

The 34-year-old - who was with the Mets for the first nine years of his career, then returned to New York in 2016 after being released by the Colorado Rockies following a 51-game suspension for domestic violence - has done nothing on the field to retain his roster spot, having hit just .141/.208/.197 while playing subpar defense through 40 games in 2018.

By wins above replacement, only four players have been less valuable than Reyes (-0.9), who has bounced around the Mets' infield, starting seven games at third base, five at shortstop, and one at second base.

Reyes, who signed a one-year, $2-million deal with the Mets in January, hasn't played since Saturday when he popped out in his lone pinch-hit plate appearance. He hasn't started a game since May 29.
