Recovering Farquhar to throw out ceremonial first pitch June 1
Danny Farquhar will make his return to the mound much sooner than anyone expected.
The Chicago White Sox announced Thursday that the veteran reliever - currently recovering from a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm during a game on April 20 - will throw out the ceremonial first pitch June 1 at Guaranteed Rate Field before they host the Milwaukee Brewers.
Farquhar will be joined by his wife, Lexie, as well as their three children. The RUSH University Medical Center team who helped care for him during his recovery will also be in attendance.
Farquhar, who underwent surgery and was released from hospital May 7, was told he'd pitch again in the future by his neurosurgeon, but he hasn't been medically cleared to appear in a game again this season.
