Boston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez and San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt were named Players of the Week for their respective leagues on Monday, MLB announced.

Both players hit five home runs over the past week, with Martinez moving into a tie for the major-league lead (15) in the category with teammate Mookie Betts.

Over the course of the week, Martinez hit .346 with eight RBIs and a 1.414 OPS. He's now hitting an impressive .343/.397/.680 with 41 RBIs for the season.

Belt homered in four consecutive games from May 14-17 and hit .444 with 11 RBIs and eight runs scored during the week.

The 30-year-old is in the midst of a career year, sitting just seven home runs shy of his previous season high (18), along with a career-best 175 OPS+.
