Mariners fans greet Paxton to eagle-themed celebrations
In the most memorable moment of the Minnesota Twins' home opener, Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton was accosted by a bald eagle attempting to land on the right-hander's shoulder during the anthem.

During Paxton's start at Safeco Field on Monday, Mariners fans welcomed their ace by wearing eagle masks and cut-outs of the bird taped to sticks while sitting in "The Maple Grove" - a cheering section that derives its name from the Canadian's "Big Maple" moniker.
It gets better too, as Seattle's PA announcer added a new sound to the repertoire: A screeching eagle noise now plays after every Paxton strikeout.
Mariners fans are the closest thing we Americans have to European soccer fans. I just wish we could see what these guys would put on the James Paxton tifo. pic.twitter.com/nJWtEwZKpJ
