Blue Jays' Vlad Jr. out at least 1 month with strained left knee

The Toronto Blue Jays' farm system will be without the hottest prospect in baseball as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was diagnosed with a strained patella tendon in his left knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the team told John Lott of The Athletic.

Guerrero was sent to the Blue Jays' facility in Dunedin to undergo a series of tests which uncovered the strain. While the 19-year-old slugger will be sidelined for at least one month, the team asserts they are managing their top farmhand conservatively.

The third baseman was removed from last Wednesday's game after sliding into second base. After being stashed on the disabled list, the team said it wasn't "anything serious," and that sidelining the phenom was just a precaution.

Prior to his injury, Guerrero was posting an incredible .407/.457/.667 slash line with Double-A New Hampshire across 53 games, helping lead the Fisher Cats to a 36-25 record.
