Dodgers DFA Klay Thompson's brother, Trayce

Trayce Thompson's time in Chavez Ravine appears to have run out.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder was designated for assignment Tuesday after failing to crack the Opening Day roster.

Thompson, the younger brother of Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson, has spent the last two seasons with the Dodgers, hitting .207/.287/.407 with 14 home runs in 107 games. He entered the spring competing for playing time in a loaded outfield that features Chris Taylor, Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Matt Kemp, Enrique Hernandez, and Andrew Toles. Thompson, who is out of options, hit just .255/.271/.362 with one home run and 16 strikeouts in 20 spring training games.

The Dodgers now have 10 days to find a trade partner for Thompson, put him on waivers, or release him.
