Major League Baseball has concluded its investigation into a reported assault by Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano. The league announced it would not be suspending Sano as the commissioner's office found "insufficient evidence to support a disciplinary determination" against him.

In December, a Minnesota photographer said Sano grabbed her by the wrist and tried to forcibly kiss her after an autograph session in 2015.

The league conducted an investigation that involved interviews of more than 20 people and concluded no discipline would be sought unless new information or evidence is received.

"I want to thank Major League Baseball for conducting a thorough investigation and I'm happy to put this behind me," Sano wrote in a statement. "I look forward to focusing on the upcoming season and playing alongside my teammates."

Likewise, the Twins announced they support the conclusion of the investigation and will not comment further on the matter.
