Report: Astros to meet with Darvish
One day after a meeting with the Chicago Cubs, Yu Darvish is scheduled to meet with the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
The 31-year-old Darvish is the top free-agent starting pitcher on the market and has been reportedly tied to the Minnesota Twins, as well as the Cubs and Astros.
The right-hander posted a 3.86 ERA and 3.83 FIP over 186 2/3 innings between the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Dodgers last season.
Darvish's meeting with the Astros comes less than two months after he allowed four earned runs over 1 2/3 innings during a catastrophic Game 7 start in the World Series against Houston.
Prior to getting traded moments before the deadline, Darvish spent his first five and a half seasons with the Rangers - the Astros' state and division rivals.
