Report: Dodgers 'in the mix' for Stanton
Giancarlo Stanton to Muscle Beach has a certain ring to it.
The Los Angeles Dodgers, the team with the $241-million payroll entering 2017, is apparently "in the mix" to acquire Stanton from the Miami Marlins, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

This runs counter to previous reports that the franchise feels Stanton's massive contract could be prohibitive, according to the LA Times' Andy McCullough, but he added that entering discussions isn't the same as actually trading for Stanton.

If the Dodgers are entering the fray for Stanton, he would make an already potent lineup even scarier. Naturally, with Stanton possessing a full no-trade clause, the fact he's from the Los Angeles area will become a narrative until a deal, if any, is completed.
