Those who frequent the surroundings of Seattle's Safeco Field may have noticed something missing from one of the area's notable landmarks.

A statue of former Mariners outfielder and Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. looks to have been defaced recently, as the bat hanging from the sculpture's bronzed right hand appears to have been sawed off and stolen.

Thankfully, the Seattle Police Department announced they have already recovered the missing bat. One suspect was also arrested in relation to the incident.

The Mariners erected the statue just outside the ballpark in April to pay tribute to Griffey, who spent 13 seasons with Seattle.

Griffey was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2016 on a record 99.32 percent of ballots. Following his election, Seattle announced it was also retiring his No. 24 with the club.
