The Texas Rangers superstar took too wide of a turn around first base after lacing a fourth-inning single off Dallas Keuchel on Sunday, and found himself caught in a rundown. But rather than giving the Astros the satisfaction of tagging him out, Beltre made a beeline toward the pitcher's mound. He was immediately declared out as a result.
Next time this happens, the fun-loving Beltre should do us all a favor and intercept the rundown throws himself, a la legendary major-league umpire Enrico Palazzo.
