Being among the worst teams in the majors does come with its benefits.

Major League Baseball's draft order is determined by reverse standings from the previous season, making the race for the bottom certainly important.

If the season were to end today, the San Francisco Giants would hold the No. 1 pick in the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, followed by the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, and New York Mets.

The Giants have never held the first-overall pick, and haven't picked inside the top 10 since 2009, when they selected right-hander Zack Wheeler sixth overall.

University of Florida right-hander Brady Singer is currently projected to be the top pick in 2018.
