He still leaves us hanging on every word.
Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers voice Vin Scully was given the ESPYS' Icon Award for his remarkable 67-year tenure calling Dodgers baseball in both Brooklyn and Los Angeles - not to mention his additional work broadcasting baseball on a national scale, as well as NFL football, golf, and a variety of other ventures.
Following a moving tribute and introduction from actor Bryan Cranston, who grew up listening to Scully and called him a "surrogate father," the 89-year-old Scully accepted the award with his typical humble grace and gave a particularly moving speech in a style only he is capable of.
He may scoff when hearing it, but it's true: We all miss your voice every day, Vin.
