The Milwaukee Brewers have landed a new catcher, as the team announced Sunday it has acquired Stephen Vogt off waivers from the Oakland Athletics.
According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, no other team submitted a waiver claim for the 32-year-old backstop.
Vogt was designated for assignment by Oakland on Thursday after slashing .217/.287/.357 in 54 games this season. In six major-league seasons, Vogt owns a .251/.312/.409 slash line and 49 home runs in 476 games.
