Report: Marlins will trade Hechavarria in next few days
Adeiny Hechavarria could be on his way out of sunny Miami soon, as Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reports rival executives believe the Marlins will trade the shortstop within the next few days.
The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles have previously inquired about Hechavarria, reports the Miami Herald's Clark Spencer.
Spencer later reported the St. Louis Cardinals had also checked in with the Marlins about Hechavarria's availability.
The Marlins, however, are still shopping offers for the infielder before making a decision, according to Passan.
Hechavarria hasn't appeared in a game for Miami since May 9, when he re-aggravated an oblique strain. In 20 games this season, the 28-year-old is slashing .277/.288/.385.
He is under contract through the 2018 season.
