Report: Employee who flipped the bird as Mr. Met will remain with team
The employee who was caught flipping off a fan while in costume as Mr. Met after Wednesday's game will remain with the organization but will no longer appear as the New York Mets mascot, according to a team official, per Adam Rubin and Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

Ahead of Thursday's game, it was announced that a new employee would don the costume instead. Per the Post, the club has several people that rotate as the mascot throughout the season.
Meanwhile, the fan at the receiving end Mr. Met's questionable gesture said he didn't mean to prompt a negative reaction from the mascot.
"I just asked for a high-five," he said. "Nothing provoked it."
The high-five, it turned out, led to just one finger.
