What a start for Paul DeJong.
The 23-year-old infielder was called up to the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday and immediately made an impact in his big-league debut when he entered the game in the ninth inning as a pinch hitter.
DeJong drilled a a 388-foot, solo home run to left field off Rockies closer Greg Holland to become the ninth Cardinals player in franchise history to homer in their first major-league at-bat.
