When the best thing you can say about a play is "at least he tried," then something's probably not right.
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza Jr. thought he had a good read on this fly ball by Minnesota Twins slugger Kennys Vargas, though he may have picked up the wrong book entirely as his diving effort wasn't anywhere close to where the ball actually landed.
Kevin Kiermaier, his Gold Glove-winning teammate, couldn't help but have a laugh at Souza's defensive shortcoming:
