Britton undergoes 2nd MRI after forearm issue resurfaces
Zach Britton's trouble with his ailing forearm isn't completely behind him just yet, as the Baltimore Orioles reliever underwent a second MRI on Friday after waking up earlier in the day with renewed discomfort in his forearm, according to The Baltimore Sun's Eduardo A. Encina.
"There's some talk about the next step to take with him," Showalter said, according to Encina. "He woke up this morning, felt it, felt some discomfort this morning. I guess we call it the night when we get back at 4 (a.m.).
"It got a little better as the day went on, but we're trying to decide what our next step is."
Britton had been placed on the 10-day disabled list toward the end of April after first suffering a forearm strain, though a precautionary MRI then revealed no issue in his left arm.
He was activated off the disabled list Tuesday, though the Orioles have refrained from using the traditional closer in save opportunities since he made his return.
