Watch: Orioles put the walk in walk-off vs. Rays
Evan Habeeb / USA TODAY Sports
Nobody on the Tampa Bay Rays could throw Wednesday.
After two throwing errors in the second inning gave Baltimore Orioles outfielder Seth Smith a "little league" home run, the Rays' ability to throw let them down again in extras. Reliever Danny Farquhar issued a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th, giving the Orioles the 5-4 win after entering the frame down 4-3.
Adding insult to injury, Smith was also the one who earned the walk-off walk.
