Cardinals sign Piscotty to 6-year extension worth reported $33.5M
The St. Louis Cardinals have locked up another key piece for the foreseeable future.
The club announced a six-year extension for outfielder Stephen Piscotty on Monday that also contains an option for 2023, according to MLB.com's Jenifer Langosh. The new deal will reportedly net Piscotty a guaranteed $33.5 million, a source told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
Monday's news conference was the second the team held to announce an extension in as many days after Yadier Molina officially received a three-year deal Sunday.

Piscotty has been a revelation for the Cardinals since making his debut in 2015 and subsequently earning a starting role in right field.
In two big-league seasons, the 26-year-old is slashing .282/.348/.467 with 29 home runs (22 in 2016).
