Marlins' Tom Koehler: Strikes out seven Monday
Koehler allowed four runs, all unearned, on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets.
Analysis:
He cruised through the first four frames before a Derek Dietrich error in the fifth opened the floodgates. Koehler now has a 15:9 K:BB through 14.1 spring innings but posted a career-high 7.5 K/9 in 2016, which offers a better reflection of his strikeout potential. The 30-year-old should offer marginal value in deeper NL-only formats for his accumulated Ks and occasional wins, but he won't be an asset in ERA or WHIP.
