The veteran latched on with the Nationals on a minor league deal this winter and struggled to get on base this spring (.290 OBP) despite striking out just once in 28 at-bats. The Nationals' depth up the middle at the major league level meant that Burriss was a long shot to crack the Opening Roster when he signed. He'll head to minor league camp and will likely start the season at Triple-A
