When Matt Carpenter left his phone unattended in the training room on Friday, he may have made a bit of a mistake.
After the 31-year-old retrieved his phone, a group of his St. Louis Cardinals teammates left the versatile slugger a goofy surprise.
Maybe Carpenter's teammate were just excited that he returned to action on Thursday, albeit in only a defensive role.
He had been out of action with lower back soreness.
