Orioles' Hyun Soo Kim: Unimpressive in early spring at-bats
Kim is 5-for-22 (.227) with one walk and four strikeouts through eight Grapefruit League games.
Analysis:
After logging just 18 at-bats against southpaws in 2016, the outfielder had hoped to increase his playing time in the upcoming campaign by improving his offense against lefties. Last month, Manager Buck Showalter relayed that Kim would get a chance to face more left-handed pitchers in camp, but two weeks into spring training, that hasn't happened. Although it's still fairly early in spring, the current trend suggests Kim will remain on the heavy side of a platoon when the regular season begins, limiting his value across all formats.
