Phillies' Andrew Knapp: Will see playing time at first base this spring
Knapp will see some time at first base this spring in addition to working as a catcher, Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis:
Knapp, who was added to the 40-man roster this offseason, has a chance to earn a bench job this spring as the Phillies' backup catcher to Cameron Rupp. If he shows he can also be an option at first base, that could enhance his chances of winning a roster spot. Ryan Hanigan and Bryan Holaday are also in camp as non-roster invitees competing for the backup catching job.
