Angels sign Yusmeiro Petit to minor-league contract

The Los Angeles Angels have signed pitcher Yusmeiro Petit to a minor-league deal, the club announced Wednesday.
Petit will also receive an invite to the team's big-league camp in spring training.
The 32-year-old appeared in 36 games with the Washington Nationals in 2016, fashioning a 4.50 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
In nine seasons in MLB with the Nationals, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Florida Marlins, Petit owns a career 4.58 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 537 innings pitched.
