Mariners trade Jesus Sucre to Rays
Steven Bisig / USA TODAY Sports
The Seattle Mariners added another page to their book of offseason trades Wednesday when they announced they're sending catcher Jesus Sucre to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Sucre played in nine games as Seattle's fourth option behind the plate last season, backing up Chris Iannetta, Mike Zunino, and Steve Clevenger.
He owns a career .209/.246/.276 slash line across 239 major-league at-bats.
The swap is Seattle's 13th trade of the offseason.
