The baseball season hasn't even started for most players, but Mexican league catcher Sergio Burruel attempted to make the catch of the year early in 2017. And he was so very close to accomplishing the feat.
On Monday, Burruel dove headfirst into a dugout to try and make a game-ending catch during winter league action.
Burruel, unfortunately, didn't come up with the catch, but his flying effort was incredible.
He appeared to be okay after the failed attempt and came back into the game after a short delay.
