After Ian Desmond reportedly landed a five-year, $70-million contract with the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, free-agent power hitter Mark Trumbo believes he can do better.

Trumbo and his camp are asking for $80 million, according to Jon Heyman of FanRagSports, who reports the 30-year-old has suitors.

MLB's 2016 home run king was in serious discussions with the Seattle Mariners before negotiations fizzled out on Wednesday. He's also received contract offers from the Baltimore Orioles - who he spent last season with - according to Orioles executive Dan Duquette.

Like Desmond, Trumbo offers both versatility as well as a big bat to any club who signs him, possessing the ability to play in the outfield, at first base, or be used as a designated hitter, although he's not a well-regarded defensive player.

Ian Desmond 22 86 .782 -4 3.3

During the 2016 campaign, Trumbo slashed .256/.316/.533 and drove in 108 runs, earning his second career All-Star nod.

He earned $9.15 million last season.
