Report: Rival team believes Dodgers have deal in place for Hill
Free-agent starter Rich Hill could be on the verge of a return to Chavez Ravine.
One rival team who had interest in signing the left-hander believes that Hill has a three-year deal in place with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the range of $40-million, according to Peter Gammons of Gammons Daily.
Hill is the top starter on the free-agent market and had received strong interest from the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, and Dodgers
Acquired by the Dodgers at the non-waiver trade deadline last August, the 36-year-old Hill went 3-2 with a 1.83 ERA over six starts. He missed almost a month with a reoccurring blister on his pitching hand.
The Dodgers are in need of adding another starter this winter with both Scott Kazmir and Brandon McCarthy coming off injury-shortened seasons.
