Watch: Blue Jays' Biagini finally gets high-five from Fallon

John E. Sokolowski / USA TODAY Sports

In barely a year, Joe Biagini has gone from unknown Rule 5 draft pick to one of the linchpins of the Toronto Blue Jays' bullpen. Now, his remarkable rise has culminated in late-night television stardom.

The quirky reliever attended a taping of Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" earlier this week, but the experience was ruined when Fallon snubbed Biagini while giving high-fives to the audience.

Ever the professional, Fallon realized his mistake and went to great lengths to make things right. On Friday night, Biagini made a triumphant return to the show to receive his hand gesture from the host, and this time there was no mistake.

Perhaps someday, Biagini - who's known as much for his unique, off-the-wall brand of dry humor as he is for his pitching abilities - will get the chance to bring his weird interview skills to Fallon's show.
