Move over, Barry.
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey passed legendary slugger Barry Bonds to become the franchise's all-time leader in postseason RBIs with 22 when Denard Span came home to score on his third-inning single off Chicago Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta.
| Player | Yrs. w/Giants | RBIs | Playoff Gms. | WS Titles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buster Posey | 2009- | 22 | 51 | 3 |
| Barry Bonds | 1993-2007 | 21 | 28 | 0 |
| Pablo Sandoval | 2008-2014 | 20 | 48 | 3 |
| Rich Aurilia | 1995-2003; 2007-09 | 18 | 25 | 0 |
| Irish Meusel | 1921-26 | 17 | 23 | 2 |
Posey's stellar October career has seen him lead the Giants to World Series titles in 2010 - their first since moving to San Francisco in 1958 - 2012, and 2014. For his career, his best performance came in the 2012 NLDS against Cincinnati, when he drove in five runs as part of his team's comeback from a 2-0 deficit to win the series.
Bonds played in four postseasons with the Giants during his 15 years with the club, and helped lead them to a National League pennant in 2002.
The 29-year-old came into Tuesday's game having gone just 2-for-8 during Games 1 and 2 of this year's NLDS in Chicago.
