Byron Buxton provided baseball with a nice send-off on the final day of the season.
In a meaningless matchup between the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox, Buxton hit an inside-the-park home run on the first pitch of the game against White Sox ace Chris Sale. Outfielder Leury Garcia misplayed the fly ball, allowing Buxton to fly around the bases for his 10th home run of the season.
The 22-year-old's speed was on full display as he reached home plate in only 13 seconds. Since being recalled Sept. 1, Buxton has greatly improved at the plate, hitting .278/.346/.619 with eight home runs, 20 RBIs, and two triples.
