Cubs' Jon Lester: Wins tenth in a row
Lester (19-4) fired 6.2 shutout innings during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Cardinals, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Analysis:
The National League wins leader added to his total with his 10th straight victory, lowering his ERA to 2.28 in the process. Lester's been lights-out in the second half with a 1.34 ERA and 0.89 WHIP, allowing one earned run or less in each of his last eight starts. After winning all five of his September starts, Lester needs to beat the Reds on Saturday to achieve his first 20-win campaign.
