The scuffling New York Yankees lost of one their key players to injury Saturday at Fenway Park, as second baseman Starlin Castro limped off the field in the top of the fifth inning after pulling up lame as he legged out a two-out double.

Shortly thereafter, the club announced Castro had suffered a right hamstring strain. He will undergo further testing.

After stroking a line drive into the left-center gap off Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price, Castro appeared to tweak his right hamstring about 45 feet shy of second base, and was immediately replaced by pinch runner Ronald Torreyes after hobbling into the bag.

Castro, a three-time All-Star, entered Saturday's matinee hitting .273/.304/.438 with a career-high 21 homers and 27 doubles in 2016, having missed just one of New York's 147 games thus far.
