Danny Espinosa cares not for Major League Baseball's "no home-plate collisions" rule.
The Washington Nationals shortstop absolutely plowed through Philadelphia Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp while trying to score on Tuesday night. Rupp, who fielded Aaron Altherr's throw well up the third-base line, took a forearm/elbow combination to the head from Espinosa, though it was the baserunner who ended up flying farther after the collision.
Rupp managed to hold onto the baseball and Espinosa was called out, which kept Washington's lead at 3-0.
