Mariners' Mike Freeman: Recalled to majors
Freeman was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Analysis:
Kyle Seager has been nursing a bruised right foot, and while the ailment isn't expected to require a DL stint, the team will call up Freeman as an additional bat in his absence. The 28-year-old is hitting .290 at Triple-A Tacoma since being claimed off waivers at the beginning of the month, and he'll join the roster in place on Tony Zych, who was optioned in a corresponding move.
