Three days after the Toronto Blue Jays designated Josh Thole for assignment, the club re-signed the veteran catcher to a major-league deal.
The Blue Jays also optioned second baseman Devon Travis to Single-A Bluefield, though he'll be eligible to return by Friday.
On Aug. 29, Thole was designated for assignment after the club brought back catcher Dioner Navarro from the Chicago White Sox.
This season, Thole has only appeared in 47 games, slashing .158/.246/.211 with one home run.
