Reds' Tim Adleman: Lasts five innings in start against Rangers
Adleman got another start Wednesday and went five innings while allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits while striking out one and earning a no-decision.
Analysis:
The start was Adleman's second since May 19, spending the majority of the interim with Triple-A Louisville. Adleman pounded the zone with 51 of 68 pitches for strikes, but was done in by the long ball, serving up three home runs including one to the Rangers' starting pitcher, Yu Darvish. The rough outing raised Adleman's major league ERA from 2.96 to 3.68 over six starts, not quite matching his 2.38 ERA over 10 starts in Triple-A. Adleman holds a 7.28 K/9 throughout the minors, so don't expect him to be fanning a ton of big league hitters going forward.
