Padres' Tyson Ross: Slated for rehab outing
Ross (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Lake Elsinore on Thursday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis:
He will be capped at 45 pitches Thursday in his first taste of live action since spring training. Reports out of San Diego suggested Ross greatly impressed during his bullpen session over the weekend, and it seems Ross has a very real chance to pitch out of the major league rotation over the final month. That said, any sort of setback -- and he's had several over the past few months -- could result in Ross being shut down for the season.
