After going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in his Texas Rangers debut, Carlos Beltran wasted no time redeeming himself in his second game with his new club.
In his first at-bat Wednesday at Camden Yards, the 39-year-old deposited a Kevin Gausman offering into the first row of seats beyond the right-field wall, giving Texas a quick 1-0 lead over the Baltimore Orioles with his 23rd home run of the season.
Beltran, whom the New York Yankees shipped to Texas on Monday in exchange for pitching prospect Dillon Tate and two more minor leaguers, took the field Wednesday hitting .329/.366/.487 with three homers over his previous 19 games.
