Dodgers ball girl snags foul ball, saves fans' lives
These are the dangers of hanging around the ballpark late in a blowout game: you stop paying attention, and before you know it, a foul ball comes flying at your head.
Fortunately for these Los Angeles Dodgers fans who stuck out their team's 14-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday, they were seated in front of Dodger Stadium's very talented ball girl, who made a slick backhand grab on Brandon Drury's line drive - that left his bat at 108.7 mph, according to StatCast - and likely saved those patrons from getting their heads taken off in the process.
The ball girl received a well-deserved standing ovation from the home crowd for her efforts. With catches like that, we wouldn't be shocked if Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave her a call about an outfield job, too.
