Dodgers' Scott Kazmir: Drops first game Saturday versus D'Backs
Kazmir (9-4) was saddled with the loss Saturday against Arizona. He pitched 6.2 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out seven.
Analysis:
The left-hander entered the game as the NL's only undefeated pitcher -- minimum of 10 starts -- since May 14, going 7-0 with a 3.73 ERA in 13 outings. Kazmir had good stuff Saturday, throwing 71 percent of his pitches for strikes and inducing a ridiculous 18 swinging strikes, but he gave up three runs over the first two innings that the Dodgers were never able to overcome. Kazmir will look to start a new winning streak when he takes the ball Thursday against the Rockies.
