Blue Jays' Ezequiel Carrera: Returns to bench role
Carerra returned to a bench role Monday as Jose Bautista returned from the disabled list.
Analysis:
Carerra has capitalized on a number of Blue Jays injuries to amass the second-most plate appearances of his career. He did a fine job filling over the past four months, slashing .261/.351/.375 with 12 extra-base hits, including four homers. However, Toronto is too deep to afford Carerra much time when everyone is healthy, so his stock just plummeted with the return of Bautista.
