Orioles' Joey Rickard: Required to wear splint for three weeks
Rickard has been diagnosed with a high-grade ligament tear in his right thumb and will wear a splint for three weeks, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
Analysis:
An MRI revealed significant damage to Rickard's thumb, and doctors have recommended he keep the thumb immobilized for a few weeks. Once he sheds the splint, Rickard will need several weeks from there to ramp up his activity and ultimately complete a rehab assignment. He's hoping to be back in September.
